Grrrr...

This is the beginning time in about three or so months that I found myself this disappointed and angry with an animated film. I'm 19, and I adore animation and have done since I was about two. But Animals United is a serious contender for the worst animated movie I accept ever seen, and I have seen a lot of animated films, skilful and bad.

As bad equally Titanic:The Blithe Movie, Spiders Web:A Pig'due south Tale, Doogal and Secret of NIMH 2 are, and that word is being kind to them(the starting time one especially is an insult to the intelligence), Animals United for me surpasses them on levels of how painful and dull information technology is.

I accept and so many beefs with Animals United, merely I have to say what angered me about was the vocalism bandage. On paper, this is an amazing voice bandage. James Corden? Jim Broadbent? Stephen Fry? However, this picture show wastes their talents completely, at the stop of the day Corden is the only one who tries. Everybody else are either annoying(Dawn French, non helped that her graphic symbol is annoying as well) or are dreadfully uninterested(Broadbent in a very rare occurrence).

But a number of things exercise not help when it comes to the waste of these talented actors. The worst offender was the script, which was actually deplorable. The writing in Animals United aims to be funny and poignant. Maybe its main target audience(essentially a family flick merely in all honesty watching this I can only see under 12s getting whatever, if any, value from this picture) will detect it so, only I for ane institute it unfunny(the humour was only embarrassing!), saccharine and heavy-handed.

And there is also the lip-synching. I accept seen some sloppy lip-synching in my time not just in animated films but in opera films/productions and films in general(though unlike here this in any of those only happened once or twice), but to say the lip-synching is sloppy hither is being kind. It was all over the place, I don't call back a single time when it was in sync with the voices or lip-movements. Then again I may accept been distracted by how bad the writing and characterisation was.

Animals United is devoid of a unmarried likable or sympathetic graphic symbol. I couldn't connect to a single grapheme throughout here, and I imagine it was the same with the vocal bandage also. All the characters in Animals United are either annoying or underdeveloped, and that is including the titular character.

The lack of a good story doesn't assistance either. This is a story that is sparse-too thin and uninteresting for an over-90-minute motion picture- and predictable complete with themes that are presented in a superficial, chaotic and preachy manner. Pace-wise as well, excepting scenes such equally the ending-and various transitions between plot points that are given less than five minutes to develop-that felt rushed, the film is a elevate. And at that place are parts, specially in the latter section, that feel as though they belong in another movie when it comes to talking about tone, also don't become me started on some of the truly impaired parts of Animals United. For example seeing a polar acquit in the Savannah made me lose more than a couple of brain cells. Simply for the record, I sympathise the message the film was trying to convey but the way it was put across was non done at all well.

I was hoping that some good animation might elevate things to a slightly better level. Sadly, fifty-fifty the blitheness wasn't done well...at all. The colours seem rather flat, the backgrounds are blocky, just the existent abomination blitheness-wise was the character designs. I have seen some animated films and shows where "ugly" character designs are deliberate, merely I doubt that was actually the case here. Regardless of that, in my opinions they were just hideous, ofttimes over-sized and hasty and the oral cavity movements and lip-synching did petty to assistance either.

I would also say the same for the soundtrack. Every bit an aspiring vocaliser and keen musician, I always look for a skilful soundtrack. Animals United is not an instance of a skillful soundtrack, in fact information technology is the exact opposite of a good soundtrack. Not only are some of the musical numbers pointless, but most every single i of them are misplaced. I didn't think much either of the melodies, which were forgettable, or the lyrics, which often took me out of the mood of the scene.

Overall, a dreadful animated moving-picture show and 1 to exist avoided. 0/ten Bethany Cox

Not bad, but could accept been better

Warning: Spoilers

"Die Konferenz der Tiere" or "Animals United" is an animated film directed by Reinhard Klooss and Holger Tappe. They are joined by writer Oliver Huzly and these three also worked on new version of Urmel movies (Augsburg Puppenkiste) before this film. It is well-nigh a group of wild animals including meerkats, turtles, rhinos, monkeys, giraffes, a cock and many more who struggle due to lack of water. This is the fundamental plot, but I felt the film succeeded much more with its sub-plots. I thought the two former turtles were the highlight of the film. The scenes with their deaths and the comets was just amazingly sad. And the voices fit them nicely too. I as well liked the monkey who sort-of was with the humans initially. I did non really like the erect, fifty-fifty if I love Christoph Maria Herbst and I could accept done without this character. In general, occasionally, information technology felt equally if the moving picture could have been meliorate if they had simply included less animate being characters and perchance elaborated a chip more on these. The small groundwork stories did not work and so well for everybody as they did with the turtles. For case, the whole rhino-buffalo fight did nothing really for me.

I did not know too many from the voice bandage, really but Kalkofe and Herbst (Wixxxer reunion) and I recall I heard about Fritsch too in the past. The English dub has the swell Stephen Fry which should exist reason plenty for yous to watch information technology if you're American or British. The male parent-son human relationship between the meerkats was a great idea and I wish they elaborated a fleck more on it, maybe by telling us nearly the two and how they lived together in the by. When the young meerkat is happy in the stop that daddy saved the 24-hour interval it felt a bit out of place. Such a shame they did not develop this idea farther. It could have lifted the film up a lot. The insect plague at some point almost had something biblical just like the whole animal gathering scenes and how they stayed in peace with each other for a while to find a solution to their thirst problem. The march to the Un building was okay as well.

I think as a whole this film may be more than suitable for younger audiences, but I believe thank you to its morale it tin can as well make a good picket for adults who like animated movies. I don't think information technology is one-half as bad every bit some people say information technology is. Some animals were more than interesting than others sure, only there were no extremely negative standouts and aforementioned goes for the animation. German language singer Xavier Naidoo does a expert song for the closing credits, merely I am a scrap biased here I guess as I like his vocalism in general. I thought the song fit the film nicely. On a completely random note, the terminal scene at the closing credits with the mole reminded me a fleck of the same from "Monsters University". Anyway, solid picture show. Recommended.

Conference of the screenwriters

They should have done that. The fact, that it is aimed at the immature ones, is non an excuse. Pixar has shown us that you can entertain the immature ones and the older at the same time. And be classy while doing so. The fact that it is 3-D does non add any actress entertainment value. The fact that is preachy does evaporate near whatsoever of information technology anyhow.

I'm not going into the animation (think of that what you lot want and y'all won't retrieve information technology volition rival whatsoever of the summit animated movies, to put it nicely), but I will get into the story. Or the fashion information technology is portrayed. At that place seems to exist no tone at all. Something that little children might exist forgiving, only y'all tin't expect the parents to do the aforementioned. The preachy undertone (more over-the-superlative-tone) is making and then much noise, that you almost experience lamentable for the movie. And information technology'southward a shame considering it does have something important to say. But the way information technology handles that, is not helping. Quite the contrary. I don't recollect it will have whatsoever result whatever in achieving anything in that direction! The script should take been the priority and not the (poor) 3-D effects

Animals United

Warning: Spoilers

I saw this advertised on TV and was certainly interested in the British (and 1 Australian) talent in the cast, I didn't see any ratings at the fourth dimension, I just watched and judged for myself. Basically in the Okavango Delta of Africa, all the animals of the generally dry sand and earth covered country are waiting for the annual overflowing to come up for the water in order for food to abound, to bathe in and of course to drink. The animals include Billy the meerkat (James Corden), Baton'southward meerkat love Bonnie (Billie Piper), Socrates the vegetarian lion (Stephen Fry), Angie the elephant (Dawn French) and Giselle (Joanna Lumley), and they are joined a little while subsequently past Toby the kangaroo (Jason Donovan), Winston (Jim Broadbent) and Winifred (Vanessa Redgrave) the elderly giant tortoises, Charles the French rooster (Andy Serkis) and The Tasmanian Devil 'Smiley' (Pete Zarustica) who are looking for a new home. The new gang of animals take had their dwelling destroyed past fire, oil spills and other man-made disasters, and they discover the reason for the lack of h2o is considering humans have built a dam in the delta being used to supply free energy for a luxury resort. Socrates at one point gets captured and caged to go to a Las Vegas casino, but the animals suspension him out, and when they render to Africa they pause downward the dam to rightfully get their water supply back. Also starring Omid Djalili as Bongo and Bella Hudson every bit The Polar Deport 'Sushi'. I will be honest and say it was probably just the cast list that attracted me to this film, merely I do similar cartoons too and I hoped it would be fun, but beingness a translated film sometimes the lips are out of sync, and the story is a flake boring, do a disappointing animated chance. Adequate!

Animated family movie tries to have on some serious world bug...

The recent years have spawned a great number of animated movies, as the animation studios are picking up footstep and utilizing better graphics, dynamics and overall improvement. "Animals United" is actually a decent animated flick from 2010.

The story is nearly the animals of the savanna having no water, as man has build a massive dam at a hotel resort. And animals worldwide are also suffering from the furnishings of climatic change and global warming. The animals band together to change this and brand human run into the error of his ways.

Initially the storyline is acceptable, however, it is weighed down to a level where it becomes intolerable at times, because of the heaviness of the topics of which the story tries to incorporate; climatic change and global warming. At times it merely becomes as well much of a propaganda against the mistakes people have made in the poaching and exploitation of World's resource. Information technology really wasn't suitable for an blithe film, and worked confronting the movie as a whole.

As for the animation and graphics, well I enjoyed that. The images were nice to look at and the characters were well created and had lots of unique characteristics and personalities. Many of the animal characters were likable and overnice, which would exist a great appeal for the family unit flick aspect of "Animals United".

The English version of the moving-picture show had a proficient list of vocalization actors/actresses to its rank, and people did good jobs with bringing the voices out for each individual character.

Despite the upsides to the flick, I am going to requite "Animals United" a five out of 10 rating just, because of the climatic and economical aspects that the movie tried to incorporate and painfully fleshing out that man is to blame. We already know that homo is the culprit backside the sorry state of our Earth every bit it is today. And those heavy topics didn't have a home in an blithe pic in my opinion, hence the mediocre rating, equally it brought downwardly the movie's overall enjoyment.

For a family movie, "Animals United" comes off equally too heavy and too political. It is something that people from early teens and beyond could relate to and empathise. Just small kids and children? No, the movie's topic is too heavy for those. Certain, they could savour the blitheness itself and the characters, but non the story.

Problems United !

Alarm: Spoilers

At that place is a message virtually the poor nations which must unite together to brand a stand, and be present in a united, rather cooperated world. There is another message near the man who enjoys destroying earth by stupidity; the global warming is one of its latest results. And there is, supposedly, a lively funny moving-picture show about this and that,.. or not!

The movie is confused between its then realistic tone, and its existence as simply entertainment. You can spotter that clearly in the designs of the animalistic characters; they were betwixt the discovery channel and the good erstwhile cute cartoon. Permit lonely that some of them looked then boringly real (the turtle, the eagle, the behave,..), and some - nigh shamelessly - looked strictly stolen from some other, non too far, movies (the giraffe from Republic of madagascar, and the elephant from Horton Hears a Who!, except for their yellow hair!).

While many moments should accept been deleted in the editing room, the picture show'southward makers just loved everything they made, so they kept information technology no matter what. The troubles of the leads in the hotel's room, the eagles' talk in the valley of death, ..etc. are some examples for totally unnecessary scenes. And why all of these characters in the first identify?! Equally if the main intention was to evidence every single fauna out there. Then, eventually, the moving-picture show did inflate with too many characters and events!

The finale sequence with all the animals going to the UN, in what loomed as converse incarnation of Noah's ark, is dreamy yes, but so politically involved and kind of a sneer at the movie itself. Information technology's where the realistic and fantastic natures of the story met badly, nonetheless representing its schizophrenia finely!

The comedy is dry. The fart gag has been overused like it was the only way the movie has to brand laughs. The quality of certain special effects seemed archaic; for instance, the burn in the Australian desert. And the management is a bit banal and cold, despite lovely warm landscapes shown repeatedly throughout the movie.

Some moments were strongly cinematic; the climax with off-white activeness is the highest of them. Few characters were achieved as both real and cartoonish, such equally the buffalo which was the most effective and memorable. And sometimes the music worked nicely, David Newman managed to be distinctly emotional.

It'due south a 3D animation message movie. One-half fictional, half factual. And even at the fictional side it'south one-half entertaining, half silly. Hence it'south generally uneven and average at all-time. And information technology's where the message ruled the movie. Not a good thing for the motion-picture show and the message likewise.

A tad too moralistic

Information technology'south the commencement of a new flavor and the animals all gather around the drinking identify waiting for the water. When it doesn't come ane of them starts a trip to observe where it went and bring information technology back. When it becomes clear he can't set up this on his own a conference is started and all animals unite in their quest to bring the water back.

Animations films similar this are clearly aimed for a younger audience - cypher bad ever happens and when it does it is buried nether enough funny bits to make it pleasurable. The story is piece of cake enough for that audience and not completely boring for the adults - even though its implementation is a -very- moralistic ane, forcing a message down everybody's throats for the total duration of the pic.

The animation itself is mixed - sometimes practiced, sometimes bad. The added 3D effects are pretty good but the pic doesn't loose much if seen without them. The characters are the typical ones - ranging from the goof to the necessary evil to the wise old owl and the style they gather fits. The kid I watched it with enjoyed it richly and I wasn't bored to death, so that works.

The hearts of children will dear it

Get-go of all, children up to eleven years, especially girls, will love this movie.

It is very child-oriented, which ways it is a bit infantile, specially in delivering its message. The bulletin is, and here comes Al Gore in, who will honey this moving-picture show too, that we humans are bad bad bad when information technology goes to matters of nature, animals, earth.

Parents will probably go bored sometimes, considering the message is delivered with some long lasting sermons, which we hear all over the time, but in this case from the oldest and wisest animals on earth. And children larn that what their parents practise for their living, is mostly bad and causes nature to endure. But to exist honest, that's true. Nature is raped past man, and we don't intendance. Afterwards there seems no other mode in Germany to heighten the funds for a Pixar-similar animated motion picture, nosotros take to live with it. Not as well bad for us to be confronted with a bitter truth over again, although it's not brought to united states of america very subtle.

Animation is good and doesn't stay behind current productions. 3d furnishings are also impressive and manifestly not postal service-production.

The characters are nice and funny and believable, mostly cliché of course, the plot is executed adventurous enough to keep everybody in line, even if we know, how the picture show will end.

What the movie lacks is independence, its a mixture of everything from Madagascar through Ice Historic period and Horton, a perfect example of target group oriented production placement. 'No experiments' was the prime number directive during product, it's obviously. Personally, I thought they took that too serious.

But nevertheless we go into a theater to watch a movie that makes our kids happy. If this is what our children makes happy, so what shells ? I don't open my wallet (so wide) to accept a censorious conversation afterwards, but to ask 'How did you lot like it ?' and get the reply 'I loved it and then much'. And I got it.

Preachy, irrelevant commie propaganda

HOLEY UNDERWEAR! If you thought Captain Planet was preachy, just sit down downwardly in front of this crap-fest for a full dose.

From moment one, it's an attempt to blame HUMANS for climate, suggesting that polar bears don't know how to swim, that politicians get to the arctic for photo opportunities, that somehow, riding a motorbike automatically makes you a slothenly grapheme who, even when there are plainly marked trash bins, would rather throw trash everywhere.

I'd like to sit down down with the managing director and say, HEY MORON! WE AREN'T ALL LIKE THAT! Come downward off your high horse and make clean upwardly YOUR OWN carrion start.

Accented Boredom!!!

I don't often write movie reviews, simply I but had to for this one... There isn't much adept nearly this movie. The characters are cute, that's almost information technology. The script is completely implausible -- a polar acquit in the Savannah?!? A floating bathtub that appears out of nowhere... Granted, information technology'south a cartoon, merely still... The animation was horrible. The movement of the lips during dialogue wasn't in synch. with the bodily dialogue.

The worthwhile bulletin of the motion-picture show gets lost in the mess of terrible blitheness & boring script.

The highlight of the whole thing is the monologue of the 715 yr. erstwhile tortoise. But that's virtually information technology... 20 seconds or and then...

In endmost, don't waste product your money on this i!

Protect Your Children From This One

Alert: Spoilers

Misinformation & propaganda aimed at the undeveloped & easily influenced minds of children.

I think we made it most 15 or twenty minutes in when I finally had to remove u.s.a. from this movies hostile influence. I cringe to think that in that location are people out there who recollect like this.

Within those few curt minutes, the audience is shown that humans are disgusting, repulsive, irresponsible, littering, drunk, wild-fire starting pigs who are bad for the planet and all other animal life on it.

We're shown droughts starving out African animal populations, oil spills destroying the home of bounding main-life, roosters crucified to a table with chef's knives, and a prairie-dog child disowning their begetter considering a herd of water buffalo and a herd of rhinoceros's prevented him from bringing water domicile! Anyone who hates humanity this much shouldn't be a function of it. People who think like this are the worst enemy humans could ever have.

Even Disney's The Wild is better than this...

Warning: Spoilers

As a big fan of blitheness, I ofttimes subject myself to stuff like this to run across if perhaps the critics are too harsh. After all, this is a kids movie right?

Don't exist like me, you will regret it....

This movie is tiresome and confusing at the all-time of times, even though the storyline is uncomplicated as hell. I know that doesn't seem to brand sense, simply but trust me!

The primary protagonists, which surpass the whole African population in number (seriously, at that place are then many!) are all bland and cliche. Around one-half of them alive in Africa and are trying to survive through a drought with trivial water, somewhen deciding to set off and find some, before discovering it is beingness stored in a dam to supply a nearby vacation resort.

I believe the main grapheme is the creepy James corden meerkat with the stringy voice. As if they couldn't brand that actors phonation worse than it already is anyway? He is the get-go to set off to notice the water, eventually coming together up with some animals who arrived in Africa in a bath from other countries (no, yous didn't read that wrong).

Non just are there and then many characters, only most of them have no purpose to the overall storyline! The tortoises give a speech about man devastation before deciding to immediately dying, which is deplorable as they were the most interesting characters.

Most animals are stereotypes, such as an Aussie kangaroo and Tasmanian devil. I don't listen stereotypes if they are tasteful, but these aren't not bad portrayals.

The ending is as you lot would imagine, boring and anticipated... until the last few mins when they decide to go to New York in a whale? Overall the film is attempting to give an environmental message, simply just goes about information technology the incorrect way!

If your looking for a quality animated movie then I propose fugitive this one, fifty-fifty The Wild (2006) is a better choice which actually says something! I would accept given it a 1 is it wasn't for the decent enough blitheness!

eco indoctrination at its worst

I am probably more eco friendly than many people, yet I found this pic offensive in so many means. It is full of characters stolen from other places, plot lines from other places, and an unabashed hatred for humankind. Mostly it is an embarrassing try to indoctrinate the viewer that failed on multiple levels.

I watched this picture on Goggle box on a Saturday when there was virtually nothing else worth watching and I felt ripped off. Its besides bad that Straight Goggle box doesn't give refunds because I would certainly ask for my $iv.95 dorsum. If y'all run across the listing for this motion-picture show practise not carp to look further information technology is a waste of fourth dimension and free energy.

Terrible picture - bad and annoying preachy only non fun!

Alarm: Spoilers

I saw this movie in the cinema with my half-dozen and eight year olds and got increasingly aroused as it progressed. I've seen so many animated movies and this was the worst - bad plot, annoying characters, no logic, not funny and sanctimonious. I call back the blitheness quality was quite lovely so I was so annoyed to see information technology wasted on this anemic movie. The showtime ten minutes of the film jump effectually in an unconnected manner with no explanation who the unlike characters are, in each it cuts off with an beast seemingly going to dice. This is for children?? They run into a kangaroo fall off a cliff with a fire, a polar bear stranded at ocean and two sugariness old turtles about to swim through pollution. Nosotros presume they are all dead and the story cuts to something else. I got angrier equally it progressed because it wasn't funny - information technology was disturbing and stupid. My kids didn't express mirth once. All humans are seemingly useless mindless fools who care only about money. I am totally against pollution and global warming but the bulletin hither was and then vulgar. There was a x minute sermon mid-fashion, condemning the evil humans. Then the turtles die and in case my kids missed it they repeat it virtually x times ("the turtles died") why? My son is ordinarily upset when an character dies in a movie (he even cried when they killed the evil dragon in "my outset dragon") only here he didn't care because in that location was no connection to the characters created - at all. None of it made whatsoever sense - the v animals from dissimilar continents ending upwards in a bathtub in the bounding main - how on earth did that happen? or the crazed character of the hunter who seems intent on blowing up all animals nonetheless is suddenly overcome with remorse when he sees the lion. The chimp looks like a rip off from the new planet of the apes movie. The moment when the dam breaks.. wouldn't all the animals exist killed with tons of concrete and water raining downwards on them? but hey - the securitatas survived (compassion), really?? Don't waste your time.

Heavy-handed and inconsistent

Despite trying with some inexpensive jokes, the overall tone of this movie is rather dark, but what really bothers me is the inconsistency of the story and the overabundance of factual errors and improbabilities, in this movie nosotros have African buffaloes with fur, upper incisors and (in the German language dub) a Spanish accent, saltwater fish in a large open-peak tank in either Botswana, Namibia or Angola (evaporation apparently being a non-issue for these tanks), animals from all over the earth who arrive in these landlocked regions later on leaving a bathtub they used to cross the oceans, a biplane with an ATGM launcher, etc.. The worst of all these factual errors, IMHO, are the vegetarian king of beasts - the rest of the carnivorous protagonists don't seem to swallow anything either - and the dam closing in all water (instead of letting through roughly the aforementioned amount as earlier since otherwise it would but spill over), considering these are obvious plot devices to indoctrinate children with the political messages of this movie (meat is bad, mankind is evil).

Not great just not the worst picture I've always seen either

It'due south nifty considering it'southward for children and the vox acting was very good (they should actually effort dubbing a meliorate picture next time and who knows maybe nosotros'll like information technology) but you lot get the feeling that even they knew the script was bad. But I have seen lots of horrible films coming out over the terminal couple of years and it's no way nigh equally bad. I think the reason why most people detest it is because their expectations where to high, information technology is a children'due south story after all and the script is German so we're not likely to get the sense of humour quite equally well merely all in all information technology'southward a great flick for young children, it'south not a must see but allow the children watch it when you get the risk.

Worst of all time

Warning: Spoilers

Out all of the movies I've seen, It'south hard to pick my all fourth dimension favorites between Parasite, Spirited Abroad, Lurid Fiction, Into The Spider Verse, and Speed Racer (just to proper name a few)

Only with the worst one, this will always exist #1

It'southward basically Crash meets Norm Of The North. With its lack of subtlety and its annoying supporting bandage of characters or the pauses to either hammer in its message further into your brain or practise something stupid/unfunny. The dumb main characters who do nothing but cause trouble therefore leading them nowhere and events that couldn't accept happened if the characters weren't so stupid

The characters are just idiots who practise nothing simply say dumb things for the sake of sense of humour/extending its already painful runtime/a quick gag/no reason. The plot is unapologetically and unnecessarily messy by its plot holes and leaps of time by events with so much needed explanation that you become lost. For example, a french rooster named Charles is escaping this gunkhole where he was nigh to become dinner, he escapes and lands on a bathtub with Galapagos turtles, a kangaroo, a tazmanian devil, and a polar conduct. Now, the question is how all of them unite in a short span of fourth dimension despite coming from opposite sides of the world and ending up in this specific location? Naught really adds upwardly if you retrieve near it for more than 5 seconds.

The message is the most overbearing, loud, obnoxious, and mishandled I've ever heard. The jokes are bottom of the barrel toilet humor that would brand Norm Of The Norm jealous only the worst role near those jokes is that non only are they recurring, but they're important plot points. For example, when all the animals are at the dam and trying to break information technology down, Billy (the chief protagonist) decides to play golf game with "Hyena Poo-Poo" (That's the actual joke) and information technology hits a missile that was shot in ane of the dam's holes by the hotel mascot that literal destroys the dam and saves the day.

Merely that's not it because in the end, there is a "cliffhanger" ending where they go to New York for no reason and so information technology ends.

Just don't watch it. Do the earth a favor and watch Nausicaa of The Valley of The Current of air instead

Flawed all the way

When this movie came out I was disturbed because Germans redid a dated but still well made movie - and I didn't got why anybody would do that.

The whole picture show keeps in line with the statement "why would anybody exercise that". While the offset few images where quite skilful looking, everything from the moment a discussion was spoken went downhill. I cannot stipulate as how bad English synchronizations are, but I approximate they're at least equally bad as German ones are, and probably MUCH BETTER so the original voices which never fit and are pathetic all the way.

The render quality varies from quite well made backgrounds to obvious flaws, errors and many things first year animation students would have done better. Animations are OK to just as bad. Overall the matter looks prissy or fifty-fifty swell in parts simply is flawed in oh so many details.

Toilet sense of humour, bad stereotypes and misuse of half a ton of songs aside, the terrible graphic symbol design and story just doesn't matter and is a complete waste matter of fourth dimension. The original "Die Konferenz der Tiere" seemed to matter when I was a kid, and seeing the original movie a few months ago (which is still a great motion picture, especially for children), this remake makes me almost feel bad living in the aforementioned country as people who produce or in seldom cases similar something so terrible.

I know the German people spotter a lot of really bad movies and have pathetic comedy productions - but this is even worse then the stuff that doesn't make information technology to the major stations.

Erich Kaestner is probably being brought back as zombie just to hunt down the people responsible for this.

Parents: please go for the original - in dissimilarity to this i it won't hurt your young ones and is actually a practiced movie.

Not-Parents: just burn your money and sentry it burn - fourth dimension and money ameliorate spent.

Very nice cartoon to watch with a kid of 3 years old

My kid loves it, I watched 1k times already, then I decided to write a review.

from an animation point of view, it is actually well done, the music is perfect and the dialogs are really funny!

My child of course yet doesn't understand everything and information technology focus on the animations.

I really suggest it to every parents with kids beneath five years, it is really a skilful one.

My kid likes the bufalos and all the other animals, so it entertain himself for a while watching this overnice drawing.

Not awful but still bad all the same.

Warning: Spoilers

Now, this film is bad and I'thousand willing to hold back given that it had a pretty meagre budget and is from Germany so will accept a sense of sense of humor approaching "strange" but I volition say it is horrendously lousy if compared to the big boys when it comes to storytelling, Wall-E for case tripped over its ecological message by accident and still managed to brand a very good point for environmentalism. Nonetheless, I'1000 not grading this against that calibre of film because of its indie stature and could never hope to hit those giddy heights.

Offset off, it might retrieve of itself every bit a comedy but it isn't. There are jokes (or at least I figure some are) but they're lightweight diplomacy which border on humorous but fail to... um, seal the deal. Where they're not incomplete, they're not lousy fart jokes most children wouldn't detect amusing. That's OK though, comedy isn't the driving point, the message is and driven dwelling it shall be until information technology overshoots and hits someone in the middle 3 miles away.

Based on Die Konferenz der Tiere from 1969 (tt0064552), the story regards a dam being built upstream of a Okavango delta which leads to a drought and 1 meerkat to make a difference. In 3D. Zeitgeisty enough what with the ecology, meerkats and 3D, a winner all round right? Information technology might accept had a improve shot had there not been three story lines running concurrently which fail to resolve into i smoothly enough non to crusade huge story snarl-ups. The thing feels like three teams seemingly wrote something in isolation and someone had to meld them into one coherent story. As a result, the animals who live outside the Okavango and accept no existent backstory beyond having the effect of some humans on their being and somehow make it to the main location via rusted bathtub. And the message, oh the bulletin! I don't wish to spend too long on this as whilst it is overbearing in that location is more to the film and 1,000 words only go so far.

Basically, it was intended to be "humans should be conscientious about the impairment they exercise in the name of progress" which, whilst a good point to make, got berated upon and twisted into implying genocide of an entire species for the greater adept which I dubiousness was the writer's intention but came out equally such nonetheless. That misfire lonely is the weakest part of the writing and easily the thing which kills sympathy for the protagonist's goals (and consequently the motion picture) dead more than than the abject lack of humor.

Onto smaller things, characters are broadly characterised to the betoken that some barely qualify to exist more than than talking props and that'southward some of the main bandage, others become the short finish of the stick and get a stereotype to hold onto. There's even a evil hunter shoehorned in, non sure why but he'due south as close to an antagonist nosotros get which isn't a nebulous sentiment. Graphic symbol design falls on the side of iffy but workable and thankfully the human characters don't creep people out though they're not remarkable beyond that. On elevation of that, several times I found myself thinking I might have striking a conclusion only to find I'm less than halfway through which gives yous an thought of the story quality. The CGI isn't bad, it'due south pretty proficient when not dealing with fast moving fluids (or clay for some reason) but it'due south notwithstanding sub-par within this field and the character pattern does the interim work no favours.

Should y'all find yourself bored, only willing to see what Europe can put upwards confronting animation titans like I am or just curious to find out what could attract top drawer British comedic talent to such a harshly critiqued moving-picture show (beyond the rather prissy payoff) so requite information technology a spin but don't be surprised if you'll want your time dorsum once you press terminate.

Worst. movie. always.

Warning: Spoilers

Absolutely atrocious. Permit me sum upwards this movie, and so yous tin salve yourself from wasting more than an hour of your life. Human is stupid, vile and evil. Human being is intent on destroying non merely animals, merely the planet itself. Animals are "entitled" to the earth and volition band together to destroy mankind. My "favorite" part is when a Galapagos turtle appears on screen to deliver a long diatribe about why man is, as previously stated, stupid, vile and evil. In a nutshell, preachy, heavy-handed, environmental drivel that is tedious and humorless. I am happy to see that this movie is being panned beyond the board for attempting to indoctrinate children with information technology'southward pseudo- religious ecology screed. The stop.

Not worth your time.

I've never written a review on IMDb before, but if any movie warrants a review - it'south this 1. I feel you should be warned.

I picked in upwards in the supermarket because information technology was cheap and I'd really wanted to run across it when information technology was in the cinemas. With then many amazing voices cast, it's spring to be great right? Wrong.

I'yard not sure what the principal purpose of this film was - to preach most climate change or to entertain children. Unfortunately, information technology has failed in both. The idea is great, but the execution is atrocious.

Animation is average at best, script is shockingly bad, story line is near non-existent. It seems the writers were so decorated trying to include every element or effect of human pollution that they forgot to work it into a believable story line.

I don't want to go into specific details of the issues in this pic in instance you practice cull to see information technology (although a polar acquit in Africa?!?) but this film has no entertainment value and tells you lot nothing you don't know already. I don't fifty-fifty thinks kids would become annihilation out of it, except peradventure a giggle the first fourth dimension the fart joke is used.

I had to put Tangled on afterward it had finished, just to assure myself that practiced animation did withal be in this world! Relieve yourself your time and money, don't bother with Animals United.

If Disney Pixar stopped trying, it would probably look like this

Warning: Spoilers

When there is a articulate leader in the field, all reviews and comparisons tend to compare to that standard. In this case, I will compare this to Disney Pixar movies. The animation in this picture, at starting time glance is pretty expert. Almost Pixar quality. However, most characters lack the intangible quality that draws the audience to them. Most of the characters lacked real character the way pixar films practice, and particularly the human characters had robotic features. The worst part are the extremely cliché references to man destruction and greed - although I agree with the message, the sappy moral rhetoric had me rolling my optics well-nigh of the time. It gets over-done and really old halfway through the movie, merely and so they amazingly cascade it on in fifty-fifty more annoying quantities towards the end. *** SPOILER Warning *** And then in the end, information technology all falls apart in an casuistic incoherent mess. Particularly when the music comes in and the animals kickoff dancing. To, of all things - the Beach Boys song where they sing "fun fun fun, til daddy takes the T-bird away" which has NO context to the film whatever. Then the animals are flooded in a massive damn break, but they all miraculously float abroad. And so they end upwards in New York city past riding inside several whale'south mouths, to nourish a global briefing on environmental matters, which is great. Simply you know they are going to die, because A - animals can't talk, and therefore cannot dispute their views at the conference, and would likely be shot. And B - even if they survive getting shot, they are in New York city, where there are no natural resource or nutrient for their survival.

The saving grace is that my daughter is eight, and didn't know any better, and all the same managed to like this motion picture.

Which brings to mind another comparison to Disney-Pixar. In DP movies, adults relish them as much as children practice. This motion-picture show was excruciating for anyone over the age of 10.

Overall, if Disney-pixar fired its writers and hired low wage teenage summer students to write plots, and the animators hated their jobs and stopped caring how the movie turned out, their films would probably look a lot like Animals United.
